Bioenergy: Can clean power really grow on trees?

Bioenergy can turn plants, algae, food waste, used cooking oil and wastewater into power and fuel. From biogas and biodiesel to sustainable aviation fuel and carbon-negative BECCS, it could help decarbonize shipping, aviation, heavy transport and backup power. But burning forests instead of fossil fuels isn’t the answer. Bioenergy only helps when it is sustainable, carefully measured and genuinely carbon neutral, or even carbon negative.

This is not a list of tiny lifestyle tweaks. It is a big-picture view of the systems that shape the planet: how humans make energy, grow food, build cities, move around, and manufacture the materials of modern life.

The path to solving climate change is complex, and the solutions are too often buried in doom, political noise, or technical jargon. Our films explain them clearly, neutrally, and with a little playfulness.
